Sugarland will perform for President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 13 for the taping of the Christmas in Washington television special. The one-hour program will air Dec. 20 on TNT. Additional musical guests include Mary J. Blige, Neil Diamond, Rob Thomas and Usher, with host George Lopez. Sugarland released their first Christmas album, Gold and Green, this year.

Steve Martin Wraps Up World Tour

World-renowned comedian and banjo player extraordinaire, Steve Martin has just wrapped up the 2009 The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo tour that spanned from San Francisco, California to London, England… and most everywhere in between. With performances on A Prairie Home Companion, American Idol’s season finale, Saturday Night Live, Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The CBS Early Show as well as 20 concerts from early October to late November, the tour was a rousing success, critically acclaimed, and a project Richards and Southern was extremely proud to be a part of. Bucky’s BackPack Blowout

Bucky Covington will host his first hometown show, a free concert at Rockingham, NC’s Harrington Square Sept 26. While in town, Covington will be stuffing backpacks for the local BackPack Pals outreach program. Concertgoers are also encouraged to bring canned goods for the Our Daily Bread Christian Food Ministry and the Pals initiative, which provides weekend meals to children whose primary source of food is their school cafeteria.
